A few words from Coach Bailey.

CFP… there are not enough words to describe how grateful I am for this place. I walked in the doors of CFP in August of 2015, the day before starting my first day of college. Being very anxious about starting my college career, I wanted to find a gym that I could call home. The minute I stepped into CFP I knew it was the place for me. It was the most welcoming and supportive community that I had ever experienced in a Crossfit gym. The coaches cared about their athletes and did everything in their power not only to make them a better athlete, but also to make them feel cared about. The coaches and community is what made me want to start coaching myself. I wanted to be able to change people’s lives like these coaches did for me and it has been the best decision I have ever made ever since. I knew my schedule would be a little crazy with being a full-time student, but I also knew it was well worth it and has been to this day.

I was so lucky to have some of the best and most knowledgeable people teach and guide me to be the best coach I can be. None of this would have been possible without Dalton and I can’t be more grateful for him. He took so much time to mentor me and help me grow not only as a coach, but as a person. He is one of the smartest and most dedicated people I have met, and am so glad I was able to learn so much from him. The coaches also welcomed me with open arms and were eager to help me learn. I watched Michael, Alex, and Desiree from the start and learned so much from them. All these people are to thank for the coach and person I am today.

While I learned and grew so much from Dalton and the coaches, if it weren’t for the members I wouldn’t still be doing what I love. The members at CFP are amazing and so eager to learn and better themselves. I feel honored to be able to be a part of that and hope I can contribute, even if it is just a little bit, to their growth as a person and an athlete. These amazing members are the reason I love what I do and why I want to continue to increase my knowledge.

CFP is also responsible for several my close relationships. I met my boyfriend, Cherokee, who has been by far the biggest blessing in my life. I have also met some of my best friends, who I would not have been able to get through college without. Robin, you all know her, the most sweet, funny, crazy girl ever and I am so lucky to call her my best friend. Not only is she my best friend by I also get to work with her every day, it can’t get any better than that! I also met Kat, who is one of the craziest, smartest and funniest girl I’ve ever met and am also so lucky to call her my best friend. Both girls are not only awesome people but amazing athletes, who push me to be a better version of myself every day. I have also had the chance of not only coaching with Michael, but having him be my coach as well for the past few months. He knows me as an athlete better than I know myself, and has helped me achieve things I never thought possible. I am so grateful for how he believes in me and his support. The list goes on and on, and I think I would run out of room just talking about how many amazing relationships I’ve formed here.

It is now time for me to graduate and I can’t imagine what my life will be like without this gym and all these amazing people in it. Although I am so sad about leaving, I am also happy because of how many great memories I have at this gym. I plan on continuing to coach Crossfit back in my hometown, Huntsville. My ultimate goal is to work for the FBI, but I love coaching so I am not willing to give it up just yet. I am going to miss each and every person in this gym immensely, but don’t worry football season will be here soon!
